This conception is changing by leaps and bounds, and <strong>the most evident proof of this is that the number of unemployed employees over 45 years of age has dropped by 4.79%, according to August data from the Public Employment Service.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-ast-global-color-0-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\">Reasons to hire senior workers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Companies, especially those with a technological profile, are beginning to value workers over 45 years of age more highly. The reason is their <strong>extensive professional experience<\/strong>, This makes them perfect workmates for the younger generation and also potential leaders in the industry. In addition, <strong>the network of contacts they manage is much wider and generally contains people of a much higher hierarchy<\/strong> than that of a young person, who in many cases does not even have contacts in his or her address book. But in addition to these reasons, we can find many others now that the digital transformation process has arrived with force to Spanish companies:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Senior employees are provided with <strong>more experience<\/strong> than juniors: that is a fact, but it implies many more things than it may seem at first glance. In addition to having been in the market for many more years, and therefore knowing the most negative and positive aspects of it, experience brings maturity, professionalism and a more robust work ethic.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Contact networks<\/strong>Senior employees know where and how to find potential customers, as they have been in the field for many years. Hence, they know the competition perfectly well (because they may have worked with them), the suppliers (with whom they have been in contact throughout their career) and the customers themselves (with whom they have a good relationship built up over the years).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Salaries of senior employees are no longer as high as they used to be<\/strong>It is true that workers over 45 years of age demand higher salaries because of their level of knowledge, experience and economic burdens acquired with age. But in recent times the average salary of this type of employee has become much more competitive, and although it is still high, in the long term it can be very profitable for the company.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Less turnover than a millennial<\/strong>Young employees are talented and productive, as they are also willing to work harder for less pay. But it is also true that they are more ambitious and are constantly looking for challenges, which makes turnover in this type of technological profile much higher. On the other hand, senior employees know how to take advantage of the opportunities that come to them after a certain age, which makes them look for greater job stability.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>More motivation<\/strong> than a junior: as discussed in the previous point, senior employees tend to have high levels of motivation in their work. The reason is strongly linked to the financial burdens that a person over 45 usually has, which makes them more motivated to achieve better personal and business results in the development of their work. And that is an advantage for companies, which value it more and more.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In short, having senior workers in the digital transformation is not crazy.
