Meetings with international stakeholders, technical documentation in English, coordination with remote teams\u2026 everything, at some point, depends on the ability to actually communicate in that language.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The problem is that the standard way of assessing English proficiency\u2014official certifications such as Cambridge or TOEFL\u2014is expensive, time-consuming, and, in many cases, disproportionate to what really needs to be known: whether that person can hold their own in a technical meeting or write a professional email with ease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why Traditional Certifications Aren't Always the Best Option<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>High cost<\/strong> when you need to evaluate entire teams, not just a single person<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Long periods of time<\/strong> programming and obtaining results<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Mismatch with actual needs<\/strong>: A general certification does not always reflect the ability to handle technical vocabulary or specific situations in the IT field<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">An alternative: self-assessment based on the CEFR framework<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) defines levels of language proficiency ranging from A1 (beginner) to C2 (proficient). Accessible tools for building it<\/strong> You don't need an expensive evaluation platform to implement this.
