Neuronodal does not need to ‘tear down’ the client's IT platform to implement a cloud architecture that manages offshore information from anywhere.

The Catalan company Zemsania has developed an architectural cloud which allows unify in real time delocalized business information, The system allows you to manage the processes and activity data of an object, machine or element from any location for further analysis.

Under the name Neuronodal «this technology makes it possible to create any solution involving large volumes of data.», explains Rafael Moreno, chief technology officer at Zemsania. When referring to large volumes of data, anyone would think of the big data, Moreno points out that this would be an applicable solution within Neuronodal. But the vision of his technology is broader: to obtain information in real time and «above all with traceability,» says Moreno, i.e., knowing its route in order to give added value to the customer.

Zemsania's technology is based on data virtualization and allows connecting different offshore information systems. An example of this would be the case where a company has its invoicing system in Oracle and the incidents in another information system. Neuronodal creates a virtual data layer that allows the connection of the two sources and their homogenization.

It is also possible to use the data in real time. As Moreno explains, «What we do is referencing the data by means of an indexing systemthat we have created based on algorithms,» he explains.

Another new feature of this technology is the computer programming system. Currently, a lot of information is generated and systems cannot absorb such a large amount of data. While traditional systems use a SQL programming mechanism, the new systems - and those that are being applied in big data- are non-SQL. For this reason, Moreno clarifies «our advantage is that we are capable of holding the same or more information than the big data, in SQL systems. We store data in a referenced way, with a different mechanism, because we work with databases, but oriented in cells».

At this point, the company's managers stop to draw a parallel to simplify the technical explanation: «Imagine that you want to build a better city, but to do so you have to tear down the one you have. This is the way other systems work.We build on the same city a new system to store information.. In addition, since it is a reference, it takes up very little memory».

Neuronodal provides data on the activity of an object, as has happened in the case of a popular coffee brand. Thanks to the traceability of different parameters, tracked 37 million packages to more than 1,500 different destinations. It has also been applied to the automatic generation of 200,000 financial contributions for a large financial institution.

Neuronodal is being applied in the logistics sector, «it is useful in parcel delivery. We can manage all the events of the person who will receive it and control all the actors that interfere in the delivery from the moment it leaves China, for example, including customs and carriers. They say it saves a lot of money because it makes predictions based on repetitive patterns and optimizes delivery efficiency. »We know the previous steps and connect information«. In fact, 20% of logistics companies are using it in Spain.

Its application extends to other sectors, such as banking for risk management or in marketing in content management.
